10 Style Tips for Women

10 Style Tips for Women

This time we’re talking to the women. Here are a few tips that will assist you in building a wardrobe that supports your personal style.

1. The right accessories make a “good” look a “great” look.

Without thoughtful and properly placed accessories(which should appear effortless), the looks is only a skeletal form of what it could be. Lets be honest, the accessories can either make or break the look. For instance, if the majority of the look is muted – opt for a bag that provides a pop of unexpected color. Also if a neckline gives you a little room to play, do just that and cleverly layer necklaces to add depth. Another great accessory is the belt. If you’re looking to add shape to an otherwise shapeless dress try belting it. The trick here is to cinch the belt slightly without creating a bunching effect near the waist. It should appear clean and natural.

2. Own the perfect nude pump. Opt for a suede or matte finish rather than patent.

This is by far one of the most versatile pair of shoes you can have in your collection. Venture on the less shiny side for versatility purposes. You’ll get much more wear out of a pair in a matte finish or suede. However, if you do choose a suede option make sure to care for them appropriately. Your shoes will take care of you as long as you take care of them.

3. Find a great tailor and stick with them.

Great tailors are like magicians. They can turn a nightmare into one of your favorite ensembles. Do yourself a favor and build a relationship with one that you trust. Lets face it, there’s a very small percentage of people out there who can find things that fit them perfectly right off of the rack. Chances are you’re not in that grouping. So find one and work with them. Your clothing will fit better than it ever has.

4. Embrace your body type and “know” your sizing. If you don’t, simply get measured.

Knowing what works for your specific body type is extremely empowering. Once you develop a good understanding of this, shopping for new clothing becomes a much more manageable process. As you begin to easily factor out things that don’t work for you, you’ll find yourself only focusing on the things that fit you well. As this continues, you will build a wardrobe of items that you enjoy wearing. We all feel great in items that fit well. If you don’t know your sizing make sure you get measured. This will help to eliminate the guesswork and wasted time.

5. A chambray top will become one of your best friends…buy one.

The reason this is such a classic piece that everyone should have can be explained by this statement – You can wear it with anything. From pencil skirts to midi skirts – from jeans to trousers. This is a tried and true classic. Go for one that is slightly tailored without being too slim. You can always half tuck or full tuck for shape and styling.

6. Flattering jean options are like gold. Get educated on what works for you.

We all know how difficult it can be to find jeans that fit well. It all starts with knowing your size, so make sure to get measured if you haven’t already. Once you find a pair that works well for you, stay with that style. Denim brands generally offer many different color/washes of the same style and fit. This will allow you to build your denim collection with jeans that offer variety and fit well. If you’re having issues finding options that impress you…click here – We’d love to help.

7. Every woman should own a statement coat. You know, the one that makes a statement while keeping you “warm.” Thats important.

This is the coat that you gracefully and confidently gravitate to when you want to turn things up a notch. We refer to this as the statement coat. It simply, makes a statement. It’s bold yet charming, its sophisticated and chic –  naturally, it’s a head turner. It will be the extremely stylish finishing touch to your winter look. We all love beautiful aesthetics but it should also be functional. A coat is an investment piece, but it is one that is worth it since it will be helping you stylishly battle frigid temps. A great option is a mid length or long length wool or cashmere coat. It can be solid or slightly patterned. Go for a versatile color way such as tan, grey or black.

8. The black dress will always have a place in a modern woman’s wardrobe. Never know when your presence is required at a stylish gala or formal event.

A prepared wardrobe is a great wardrobe to have. Think about it, how confident would you feel if you knew you had a stylish ensemble for any situation or any event that you may be required to attend. With that being said, the classic and elegant cocktail dress belongs on the list of things you should have in your wardrobe. So once those invites roll in, no need to stress out about what you’re going to wear. How convenient.

9. A chic sneaker will keep you comfortable and stylish on those errand running days.

You’ve got a million things to get done. You’re in and out of the car, up and down stairs. You need to feel stylish, mobile, and comfortable. A chic sneaker is a great option to help you navigate through those long days and long to do lists. Wear them with jeans, skirts, as well as trousers and dresses. They’re also great for travel especially when you’ll be doing a ton of walking.

10. Wear it with CONFIDENCE, or don’t wear it at all.

It’s always best to wear it confidently or don’t wear it at all. You should strive to only purchase things that fit well and that you enjoy wearing. Chances are if that criteria is met, you’ll definitely feel confident while wearing your clothing. When you look amazing, you feel amazing. This is the energy that manifests within you which creates a space for you to do amazing things. Of course there are many other ingredients in the formula of success, but confidently looking the part is one of them.
